You have to realise there are postal workers, not all, that take great fun in shaking a box that reads fragile, live embryos.. Knowing what they are doing or tossing the box back and forth to each other. Who just don't give a care they are killing the eggs people order..

I have ordered 6 Calico Cochin hatching eggs and 6 Serama hatching eggs. They ship March 2. I am just hoping since I ordered within my state, the short distance to my home will be easy..

But only if the postal workers respect the fragile box and handle it with care..

Just saying it's the people in charge of our packages that can cause the loss of damaged eggs and hatch losses.. They think it is funny... When it's irresponsibility as a postal worker..

I will def. PM both of you when the laying starts, think about whether you would like to keep them when they get big or if you will probably sell them. As adults they are not as easy to free range as chickens are. Peas like a much bigger territory and can wander a long way from home to check out neighbors, noises, other animals, basically anything that gets their attention. They are very curious birds and it often gets them in trouble. I have some that are older 12+ and they have settled down and seldom roam, so they get to range during the day, some I do not let out at all because I doubt I would see them again. In the Peafowl section on here you will find lots of good info to help you decide. I will likewise do some reading on Cream legbars, Cochins and Brahmas. My rooster who got killed was a SLW.

We have 5 acres & the neighbors all have about 50 acres apiece, so we will prob keep our chicks. :) I can't get over how cute they are. You have very nice Silver Laced Wyandottes. Hope mine will look that nice. I would trade you some eggs from mine but they won't be old enough to lay in April or May.
