I'm not talking about vacation or a long weekend or anything like that. But my wife and I work full time so they will be alone for about 9 hours a day. Will this be ok as long as I make sure that they have clean bedding and plenty of food and water? I plan on taking the first couple days off so I can keep an eye on them and get them situated.

When you have their heat set up so it remains consistent, and their food and water set up so they can't tip it over, and any pets secured away from the chicks, and their brooder set up so they can't jump out, they should be fine on their own for the day. I can bet that you'll run to check on them at the end of the day before you even get your jacket off!

I have a home surveillance system that I can view remotely. I plan on setting up a camera so I can check on them from work.
