I spent a lot of time with my ducks until recently. My schedule gets me out the door at sunrise and I'm not back for at least 12 hours.

I heard they've developed the bad habit of swimming in the pool instead of Lake. Usually I come home and they're in bed (greenhouse) and I close the door.

Three times this week they were by the pool hours after sunset (unusual).

I read on a other post about ducks that stay outside and sleep on water.

I'm no expert on raccoon or foxes etc.

I'm really just not gonna be around enough for a couple weeks to influence behavior.

Are they safe or semi safe by being able to transition from land to water?

×2 If your pond / lake is measured in feet, raccoons will herd the ducks to where they can get them easily. If it is measured in acres (even 1/2) , it might provide some protection from all but aerial predators.
