I have 3 Narraganset Turkeys setting on eggs. I have not candled the eggs. I should have some babies next week I hope. So excited as this is the first time hatch for me and my girls. They will be a mix of Narraganset / Narraganset and eastern wild. I just got my Tom about a month ago I hope he is doing his job. I see him mating so I know that part works. SO....What can I expect??? I really want the babies tame so I am thinking of putting some in a brooder. Hoping the girls will be good mothers. The weather here is so weird this year, almost spring like.

How exciting!!!! All of my Narragansetts are spoiled rotten and this will be their first year of laying (they were hatched out last summer), and hopefully they will start laying and be setting before long. I would like to think that if the hens are tame, then it wouldn't take much for the babies to be tame as well. But regardless, as long as you spend a lot of time with the mommas and their babies and give lots of yummy treats to them and let the babies see that you are everything that is wonderful and good, they will all be tame in no time. But just be careful what you ask for...mine are constantly underfoot, always trying to sneak in the house every chance they get, and jump on the tractor for rides around the farm. And if we fail to park in the garage, they will try to jump in the seat (or in our laps!) as soon as the door is open...not fun when we're in dress clothes. But there is not a mean bone in their bodies and I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything.

Best of Luck!

Well, now I am really excited. I took a flashlight to the eggs in a nest that my girl left to eat and being really careful. I saw veins in the eggs. Tom has done his job. I can't wait to check the duck eggs I have under a girl but she has not left the nest at all.
