these type of brooders really would benefit from a push button nut, or a butterfly bolt to adjust pegs quickly... i may have to modify this. Suggestions and experience would be beneficial? thanks

You might want to consider glue, that thick sticky kind or depending on how brave you are, superglue. Glue it to the bottom and just spin the thread part down to raise it as required. Even double sided masking tape may work for the time it will take to brood a batch of chicks. Yes they do need to give us more function with the product, but being a chicken person, I am sure you know how to 'make' things work.

Look like you are off to a good start here.

Best to you and your new chicks,

RJ

you know gluing the nuts is a great idea providing the bolt holds steady. quicker and less items required for your idea than mine. As my superglue has gone off ill just whack a bit of hot glue on the bottom ones that will do it temporarily. Cheers

I own 2 Titan brooders, the 1st one a bought has got metal adjusting legs & what I did I super glued a wing nut at the top which makes it easier to adjust & firm the other nuts. I made a box 30 cm high that fits neatly around the edge with a flap 20 cm square. I put a bit of hay & a hand full of feathers & make like a nest. I let the flap open in the day & close it at night. I have a thermometer probe in the box it reads 34 <=> 36 degrees C. The 2nd one has thicker plastic legs that adjust by releasing a tab on the main housing & is more stable. I still have a nest box to help maintain the temperature. I think they are fantastic. the new version is great & I am going to buy a couple more. For the little extra effort you may put into it is worth it. You can run 10 of these & use less power then 1 heat lamp. They are a winner.
