I had a problem with rodents digging my seeds too, I seem to have a lot more success when I start them inside n a large enough pot to not root lock them and plant once they are 4 to 6 inches high, much larger and they want to root lock in a decent sized pot. I've grown some fairly large grey stripes in the past years and found some "titan" and "mongolian giant" seeds this year that I plan to see just how large I can get them.
