How will missing toenail effect judging at show?

For those of you who show chickens can you tell me how a missing toenail will effect the way a chicken is judged at show. My son has a young Silkie that he was going to use in a show and she is missing a toenail on her toe (last toe on the outside of foot, the pinky toe. He already entered her before we realized the toenail was missing. The toe is there, just not the nail. Otherwise she has good form, color, and no other faults.

For feathered leg breeds there is to be no mark down for the Rudimentary Toe. It is allowed but would try and breed away from it in the breeders. Don

If the judge notices there's a missing toenail, you will get marked down. However, most judges don't scrutinize the birds enough to notice it, so your bird should be fine. I have a bird that is missing half of her toe, and she got a blue ribbon. I'm glad your bird did well anyway :)
 
I disagree entirely , and say the SOP states that the Rudimentary toe will not be marked down. Feather leg breeds will at time have a shot toe on the outside. Look in the SOP under Rudimentary Toe and you will see this to be correct. Don
 
If the bird is still good bird i would show it, some judges may put more stock in amising nail than other according to the SOP missing toe nail is a 1pt deduction. We have shown a bird at an APA show that lost a toe nail due to frost bite, and still was awarded Res. AOCCL, was a good bird otherwise

The SOP states that the Rudimentary toe will not be marked down on feather leg fowl. Go to the SOP and look up Rudimentary Toe. Don
 
Don, while I understand that the outer toe has an exemption in feather legged breeds there are still four other toes on a silkie that have to be taken into consideration. Also not something I deal with having all cleanlegged breeds, my point was there are many factors that go into judging a bird I wouldn't be afraid to show a bird with strong type and condition because of one toe nail because the point deduction is not that significant.

Yes, the reason I reposted was because the owner said it was a silkie and the missing toe was on the outside of the foot and this would be a Rudimentary Toe. Don
