I have one black copper hen that has been Mareks stricken on and off since she was a pullet. I have nursed her back to health several times in the past two years, but she no longer lays. I wanted to breed her with my black copper Rooster, but I don't think she will bounce back this time. So I need to switch gears

That said I have healthy blue splash hens and was wondering what I will get when I breed her with the black copper roo?

I was hoping for blue copper, but I have read conflicting info online and there isn't a lot out there to go off of. Any info would be helpful. I started incubating last night so either way I am in for the long haul whatever it turns out to be.

How do you know that your female has had Mareks. If she lives she will always be a carrier for life. I do not know maybe you want a line of Marans that are carriers for Mareks. If you plan on being a serious breeder you should never breed a Mareks carriers. Sorry for your bad luck. Don

It's Mareks, all the classic symptoms. Unless I pick up and move it will always be on my land. My birds are for my purpose, not for show or for sale. I live in a rural area so Mareks is around me. I have 30 birds and all but one is healthy.

I am not breeding the Mareks hen. I was relaying the fact that I had wanted to, but am now unable.

If your splash hens are splash coppers then all the chicks will be blue coppers. If those hens are solid splash (from black/blue/splash) then all the chicks will look solid blue. If you breed those solid blue pullets back to their black copper dad then you start getting blue and black coppers
