I'm hoping an experienced Guinea person can answer some questions. Several months ago, I noticed that one of my Guineas appeared to haven injury to one of her feet. Over the next few months she would huddle on the floor of the building. She ate well, but there was something wrong. About two weeks ago I noticed that both ankles appeared swollen almost like large white masses were encircling them. The masses were soft and puss would come out of them, especially at e base of her toes. She was brought inside and put in a dog carrier in my basement. I assumed she had an abcess and treated her with injectable antibiotics, Epsom salt soaks and betadine to the open area (base of toes). Yesterday, when I took her out to treat her and clean her crate, I discovered her right foot had fallen off THE ENTIRE FOOT! The leg is like a club with the area at the end already mostly healed over. The other foot will probably soon follow - yikes! She still acts normal and eats everything in her dish. Does this sound like cancerous masses? I will take photos to post.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. Last year they were all locked in their building for the winter. This year the door is open about 1 foot and they can come and go at will. My Peacocks use the same building and I can't always get them in at night ( perch 50 feet up in tree branches) so if I close the door the Peacocks can't get in. None of the others are having a problem. The building has a wooden floor with shavings and perches.
