Embarking A Breeding Project

I know this isn't my thread but I have a question. My NY Flying Flights are sitting on a nest of two little eggs and I'm worried they aren't fertile. I'm thinking of waiting a week to check them and if they are both clear I will toss them. If I do end up tossing them will they set on another clutch a couple weeks later or will it take longer, they have been sitting on the eggs for about 5 days now

In my experience by 5 days fertile pigeon eggs should have good vein development so you could candle them now, if they aren't fertile then once you take them out the hen should lay more in a week or two.

I candled them on about day ten and they were both infertile, sadly. So, I changed a nest(just in case that it wasn't because the nest wasn't the best) and I got them ready again, I don't use nest bowls so I'm using a crate with a piece of wood in it horizontally with a little corner large enough to sit in and its full of hay right now.

Should I consider using nest bowls? Where should I get them? Can I substitute for them? What is the best nesting?

I usually just put hay down in the nesting boxes and they nest on that or on the ground, never used nesting bowls though so don't know about those. Hopefully the next batch is fertile!

Yeah, I really want babies from my NY Flying Flights, because the parents seem to be untamable... Well the female anyway. And I figure if I can tame their babies, I can fly them. I want to fly my adults, but they are my only pigeons and I don't want to lose them

Lozuufy thank you :)

Ducky, for off topic things it's best to make your own separate thread. Not meaning to get down on you it just tends to make things confusing and you will get more answers to your question if you post separately

That's ok, I think I have all the answers I need anyway. Thanks guys, see ya later
