Maybe this is nothing but yesterday I noticed several of my chickens are looking all 'fluffed up'. I live in North Dakota and of course it's cold. One of my two year old chickens died yesterday. Do I have a problem brewing?

Have you noticed any blood in their droppings? Are they laying or have they stopped?
I would suspect Coccidiosis and treat with Corid in the water immediately, since you have fluffers and one that passed.
Corid 20% powder or Corid 9.6% will work. Depending on which you get (or already have) determines the dosage. Let us know if you need information on that. If you simply can't find Corid (most feed stores carry it), you can look for anything with Amprolium in it, but Corid is the best.
When was the last time you wormed your flock?

No blood. It's a new flock and I've never wormed them.
I'd still run Corid ASAP! You won't always find blood with Cocci.

I have tetracycline- duramycin-10 . Does that treat cocci?
No, those are antibiotics. Do you have a Tractor Supply near you?
Most feed stores will carry Corid or amprollium, Amprol, or Ampromed for cattle. Duramycin 10 isn't used to treat coccidiosis, but according to Merck Manual, oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline can be used, although most use Corid or Sulmet in the US. If that is all you have until you can get the Corid, then use it. Duramycin 10 dosage is 1 tablespoonful per gallon of water for 7-14 days. We do have a TSC but I haven't seen any meds other than electrolytes. My guys aren't showing any fluffing for the last couple of days. I'll order the corid so I have it on hand. Thanks for taking the time to send me all that info. I've been in Louisiana for Mardi Gras and am just getting back into BYC. People like you are what make this site so great!
You wont find that where chicken stuff is there is a section of store .. mine is along side wall adjacent the feed isles they carry all wormers and such things to doctor animals along with the emergency milk for babies.
