future coop and run

x2 That's the biggest reason I switched from vertical to horizontal. I use my old vertical waterer for new chicks, because it takes them less strength to get enough water out of it. But as soon as they have it down, and they are a little stronger, the vertical gets cleaned out and put away for the next batch of chicks and they are on the horizontal ones. Even walking under the waterer and bumping it with their backs or heads is enough to send little drips down the vertical nipples.

yeah I've noticed them walking under and causing drips, but now when you touch the silver part in the middle, water literally runs out instead of just a few drop. No doubt they're getting enough to drink from these now! LOL

I agree aart, at least it's outside and not inside. I kept my bucket for quarantine or winter uses. I'm thinking I may keep all four of the ameraucana roosters, band them for identification and pair them up with the hens. I can then track which babies come from which and see which I want to keep. To do this, I'll have to have at least 3 smaller breeding coop/run setups. This is going to get interesting, LOL

thanks everyone for sharing my build journey!

I'll bet there's a tiny piece of something that's keeping the seal from seating.

Does it seal back up?
If it does seal back up, could be the too much head pressure as you mentioned before.......empty some of the water from the barrel and see if that helps.

Some folks use nipple system fed by garden hose and have to use pressure regulators.
Not sure if a simple valve choked down would help or not.....just a thought.

going to finish this thread out once and for all with the link to the youtube video tour.
