In the Brooder
I had eggs shipped in from Florida to Maine several days ago. I only candled one as I didn't want to handle them a ton, and it had a detached air cell. I let them sit for 24 hours undisturbed on the kitchen counter, then popped them in my Brinsea Mini Eco incubator yesterday. I have read that you are supposed to set them upright in cartons in the incubator, but the brinsea does not have enough room to do that. So I have just laid them down on their sides, but am now debating if I should not turn them for 2-3 days to let the air cells stabilize a bit more? Or does it not really matter since they are on their sides anyway?
And has anyone every tried to candle right through the side of the incubator to see into the egg, that way it is handled less?
