Ah..... poor dear. Well, a couple of things. Ideas. Look for a Rabbit rescue society like House Rabbits if you cannot find the owner or take care of him/her yourself. If it is a girl, please give it a box in case it might be expecting babies. It looks like a domestic rabbit, may have accidentally popped its cage open and escaped. Before you give it to someone who says they are the owner, you might want to be sure that they are as you want the rabbit to go to its rightful owner and not join the dinner table. Just saying that because that can happen to rabbits! We have rabbits and I would guess it is a mix domestic, but definitely not wild rabbit. Now saying that if by any reason you decide to keep him/her, I would recommend a vet visit. Bunnies on the ground can get several diseases that are very serious to them and also to their owners.

Here's a link to House Society if you need it to find the resource closest to you. http://rabbit.org/

I would not recommend a humane society because with all those barking dogs, it is really nerve wracking for rabbits, but that is also a possibility.

Can you tell we have a small farm with rabbits, goats, poultry, veggies and fruits. LOL. Well, looks like you have a project and blessings on you and the bunster:)

PS don't put your finger near the mouth of the bunny untill you know she is tame and comfortable with you....

Thank you. We have a vet (my sister) who lives with us and if no one takes her we will keep her. She is very comfortable being held and touched. Most of our neighbors have roosters and chickens and i think bunnies (i can only hear the roosters and chickens lol)

Welcome to BYC!

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

You've received some good advice already. I hope you can find the rabbit's owner!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Cute bunny, hope you are able to find the owner!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Awww how adorable! I've never raised bunnies but I have raised guinea pigs. Just make sure she is drinking and eating. Give her a carrot or too. Check for lice or mites in her fur. Take her to the vet as soon as possible too.

Good luck and enjoy her!

Hi, I agree with Bargian. PLEASE from a rescuer of rabbits, contact the house rabbit society. They are very nice and will most likly help you. This rabbit can also be a "Dump". It is when a person decides they want to have a rabbit, but then either underestimates how much care a rabbit needs or find out that they "can't" keep it. I am sorry if I come on a little strong, but lots of little bunnies who were "dumped" and still carry all the effects of the ordeal.

Thank you for your time,
Bridie
