My ducks are on the way out of their eggs. The first one came a bit early and was developmentally behind but I am pleased to say today is day three and the baby does better every day! The other 4 have been in hatching process for about 36 hours and still not out. They have large enough holes to breath but there has been no progress since last night. All are moving still.

Just wondering when I should help open the shells up?

Wait! It can take 3 days to get out of duck shells. Keep watching the wiggles and picking. If you chip at the pipped area and see blood it's too early.

Agreed ducks take a while to hatch. You don't want to rush it, they need to absorb the blood and egg yolk. If they're still peeping and are active relax, it takes time.
