Nice did a tomato cage last year, I would suggest wrapping it with hardware cloth. As they get bigger they will be climbing on top of the cave and sleeping, with no wire wrapped around they will just fall through.

We do the same eat the extra roo's and older or unproductive layers. Never done meatiest, have no desire.

How long have the bigs and the littles been exposed to each other? or was this your first attempt?
