Good idea to feed fermented feed to sick hen?

I was wondering if anyone knows if this would or could help out a hen who is ill? I know that fermenting food is supposed to help strengthen the good bacteria in the gut. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was recommended that a sick chicken gets fermented feed. Would it especially be helpful to the one who has been put on antibiotics? Or is it too much of a chance- espeically if one is a newbie to fermenting- to try it?

I'm just about to try it myself with a sick hen I have now, but I wondered if anyone has given it a try (with a sick hen) and if they saw positive results.
 
I don't see how it can hurt. There's not really much you can do the FF to screw it up. But why not simply ferment and feed it to all of the flock?

OH, I plan to... and soon. Its just that our weather here has been freezing and I don't have a place in the house to ferment the feed. Sorry, I meant to mention that. Its just that I can do a little jar right now in the house for my sick hen. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this before. My hypothesis is that, if caught in time, it would help a lot with a recovery.

Just wondering outloud, but would fermented feed be a good preventative for things like sour crop? cancers?
 
It might. It could. But it can happen anyway.

I've battled sour crop in a couple of hens who later died. But they probably died from the lymphotic leucosis present in my flock. As someone pointed out, we have no way of knowing how sick our chickens might be without having the benefits of FF. Let's just say, by feeding FF, we know we're doing all we can to give our chickens all the added nutritional benefits possible.
