One of my quail chicks was born with what I thought was a splayed leg, it went backwards though not to the side. I tried the bandage trick but now he just sticks them both out to the back. He doesnt even try to stand correctly, it's like he's physically incapable.

I will hold him and position his legs how they should go but he just keeps pushing them straight back so he's constantly on his belly. I'm not sure what to do at this point and idk how long he can live just scooting around on his belly with his legs like this. It's hard to watch.
Trying to attach a pic.

I am sorry about your baby. Not all chicks are able to get to adulthood. As sad as it is, some are too weak and don't make it.

All you can do in this case is keep this little one separate from the others, keep him warm, dip his beak in the water every few hours so he can stay hydrated and feed him some hard boiled eggs. He probably won't eat his chick starter. Maybe a day of this will perk him up.

If in a few days you are not seeing any improvement, you should probably consider putting him down. Unless he has quality to his life, there is no point in keeping him alive.
