I was candling her eggs as she was out and about last night. One of the eggs has an crack that looks like something pressed into the shell. I brought it in the put it in an incubator I had set up for a school hatch project.
This morning I got the idea of trying to seal off the hole with an egg shell piece from some eggs I cooked for breakfast. I am a little worried about introducing bacteria but I felt I needed to do something to block the hole so the inside didnt dry too much. Not sure but I think the membrane was still intact across the indention.

Im wondering, has anyone had any experience with such an occurrence. Im wondering if it is most likely that the mama broke the egg when she discovered it was not viable any longer. It looks like it had developed when I candle it but it is too dark to see much.

I got a brighter light and a darker room. Candled my little shell sealed egg this morning and SAW MOVEMENT!
Im ecstatic!
I did discover another cracked egg from the incubator so I used the same sealing technique on it. Ill let you all know the out come of both. This second one was not as far along in the development and I did not see any movement so Im not as hopeful.

I forgot to click a pic before giving this little one back to its mama. Im pleased to report the egg patch worked on this one. It will be awhile before I know if the second shell patch job worked or not.
