My yearling American Buff started to sit on her nest today!!!!!! She has been laying for about 2 weeks and in the beginning I removed the eggs and replaced with fake ones and marked her eggs. Yesterday I put the 5 newest ones back in the nest, think she might have layer another one yesterday and today she is sitting on the nest!!!!! I guess I had the perfect timing :) The two ganders are standing guard which I think is so cute………as long as I don't come near ;-)
She has a little A-Frame nesting house which the plans I found on MetzerFarms website.

So in a lot of books, threads I read that in the first breeding season they might not be successful…… Why is that???

So excited!!!! Hope we will have some goslings soon. Incubation time is around 30 days, right?

Thanks,

Freaked out this afternoon when I saw her walking around but she is back on her nest. Guess she just needed a little exercise and a snack :)

That's her. You can see her butt and her two men standing guard!

You want to make sure she comes out at least 1X a day to eat and drink and have a bath if she wants.
