Any powders you suggest on mites?

If you have an acute case of mites and no concerns about being organic, then consider Sevin dust. If issue chronic and not too intense, then set birds up with a quality dust bathing location in full sun. Make dust is a silt-loam and if you feel comfortable, then add DE and / or ash to it. At least part of the control involves the mites are simply unable to hang on to feathers when lots of dust present.

I had a terrible mite infestation (my kids decided to decorate the coop with vulture feathers unbeknown to me). Nothing seemed to work, but what finally did was giving each chicken a small squirt of ivermectin pour-on (made for cattle) on the back of their neck. I used maybe 1/8 tsp per bird using an dropper. I've never had a mite problem again.

I do agree but the DE seemed to just kill a majority of the mites but not all like the eggs on the chicken. But DE can be used to Finnish off mites that have been treated with medication specifically for chickens.
DE is mainly used for preventing these.

Try diatomaceous earth... It's great for mites and lice and you can add it to their dust bathes.
