Making new, useful items, or 'upcycling' as is has been recently described, is a great way to keep communities clean and save money. Many people with hobby farms have become very good at doing these projects! So let's have a contest to see who makes the best upcycled treasures! Prizes include a $5 amazon eGift card and heirloom seeds from BYC member, hennible!

Rules:
1. The creation must be your own
2. It must be submitted before May 12, 2015
3. You must be willing to give an email and mailing address if you win (for prizes!) *note* if you win and wish not to give this info, your project will still be first place, but the next runner-up will receive the prize!
4. Project must be made of one or more items with a previous purpose. (ex. and old tire, glass bottles, an old window)
5. Include a picture (or several) of your project and a description of it
6. One entry per person. Choose your best project! If you wish to share more, do so on this thread, it is greatly appreciated!

Entries which do not follow the rules will be disqualified (excluding #3)

What is acceptable?
Any upcycled project that you have created is acceptable, including existing projects. However, I am giving until May 12 to ensure that anyone who wants to do a new project has the time!
Of course, BYC rules need to be followed. Nothing vulgar!

Well I'm not going to enter for the prize, but here's my tire tower planter...
It's very simple three large logging truck tires as the base and a regular sized tire on top, all are filled with soil now (not totally done in this picture), I will be growing cucumbers in the top tire... Not sure what else yet :)

Oh maybe your wondering why... Well it's cold here and even plants in my greenhouse need all the help they can get, the tires hold a lot of heat, and some water. Stacking them up creates an even warmer micro climate, this could add an extra week or more to my season.

This is not only cool-but so useful!

My mom and I were driving around and saw some really big cabinets that someone threw out on a hill! We're going to take the truck out and pick it up. That will be my new duck house, with some alterations! What do you think?
