Christmas in October block Swap

On a more serious note. I talked to my brother yesterday and 600 of his milk cows perished in the blizzard Sat./ Sun. It looks like 300-400 are injured from the cold, frozen udder parts. He is South/East New Mexico. They are not used to that extreme cold and are not set up for it so the milk cows suffered a lot.

Dory? Lol

We are in eastern Texas an hour between Beaumont and Houston....in other words pick one direction or the other we are an hour away... Our town borders the trinity river it runs through ( twists and turns) all through the county... We are flooded.... This time the water has been higher than ever I've seen it.... And others are saying the same thing. I have several customers who buy eggs that can't get to me much as they are boating in and out of their homes. We haven't had it that bad but my pastures have been lake Dayton more than once....we have all worn out a pair of mud boots with all this rain....water,water everywhere...the train trestle will be under before long...it was receding instead now more rain....they will release more water from the dam into the trinity and we will watch it rise yet again. Stay dry....

Chick among us, how do you manage to stay so cheerful! Water sounds awful. We are still ok here in Lincolnshire but that may be because a lot of the land was claimed from marshland so we have lots of ditches and dykes and rivers to handle water. Even big cities have been flooded in the UK. And still the rain comes.

Are you subscribed for the 1st swap in 2016?

We are still drying out, too, more rain to come next week

I'm so sorry to see that how awful.

Went to the thrift shop today looking for chicken clothes makings, and I found 2 fabrics for $2 each one is a VERY nice red print w/ gold nice heavy quilting cotton over 5 yards long and about 30 inches wide. And a nice heavy weight blue/brown plaid, it is 100% cotton, but a little fuzzy, not fuzzy enough to be flannel but not smooth as most quilting cotton so not sure of the exact type, but it is nice and a big piece 3+ yards.

That is how I stay cheerful.... I did not..... blessed be, loose my 600 animals. And in Texas we also are not set up for that kind of cold. I hope El Niño is not pushing that our way. Poor souls that lost so much . I will pray for them.

Here's a pic of my two bargin fabrics, the red one has 5+ yards at about 30 inch wide, and the plaid has full 45 inch wof at 4+ yards got each for $2
