SJchickens
Songster
I got two Cochins from a neighbor a few days ago. They are 2 and 3 weeks. They did not do well fitting in with my 4 Wyandotte chicks who are a bit younger, so I have them separated.
The younger Cochin is acting fine, but the older one is acting strangely since we've brought her home. She's been rather lethargic. She walks slowly and sleeps more than her younger sister. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her! She's eating, she's drinking, she's pooping normally (I must say that studying poop is unpleasant). The only problem is that she's lazy and somewhat anti-social!
I think I finally figured out the problem. She's stressed! She isn't adapting to her new home like her younger sister. I think she misses the other chicks she was with. I don't think she's ill.
If she is stressed, what can I do to help her? She doesn't seem to be in any danger. She's eating and drinking normally, but I want her to feel comfortable.
