I was told this was an Ameraucana chick but they also had welsummer chicks. Any thoughts to which one I have?

Is there a beard or muff on the chick...it is hard to tell in the photo...it almost appears there is?

If there is a beard/muff, then it is an Easter Egger, a hybrid of Ameraucana with any other breed. They may have been going for an Olive Egger with the Ameraucana (or more likely EE) over a Welsumer. EE's often have green legs, but frequently can have yellow, but continue the beard/muff (usually).

If no beard/muff, then it would most likely be a Welsummer, and a girl since it has strong markings on the head and crisp eyeliner, which marks girl Welsummers chicks.

EDITED TO ADD: It is definitely not an Ameraucana, and they may be selling EE's as Ameraucanas, which would be in error and misleading. Ameraucanas never have yellow legs, they have slate grey. And your chick doesn't fit the proper color types...there is only one chipmunk pattern, and that is a silver based. Some people sell EE's with the label of Ameraucana. You will see them posted as such in the feed stores, but that is a gross error. The Ameraucana breed society is very vigilant about what fits into SOP of Ameraucana.

If the sellers didn't know how to tell a Welsummer from an "Ameraucana," then they are selling EE's as EE chicks frequently have a chipmunk pattern that is golden....unless somebody really wasn't paying any attention when they packed the chicks.
