Hey, new here. Never had chickens before but have been around plenty. I was a vet tech for almost 14 years and a dog groomer also for almost 11 years now. I quit my job at the vet clinic a couple years ago and now groom from my home! Have always loved all animals. Just recently bought 4 baby chicks from North40 and will be raising them to have our own eggs! We have had them two weeks as of yesterday. Growing like weeds! I got 4 different chicklets!
Black and white- ancona chick named "martha"
Yellow- red star chick named "myrtle"
Black- black sex link named "Margaret "
Brown- partridge rock chick named "Matilda"
They are all super friendly and love sitting on my shoulder! And sleeping in my hands!
They will share the back fenced yard with our free roaming bunny named "lewie bun"
Look forward to learning lots here... Have already came here with lots of questions and found all the answers!
We also have 4 dogs and a hairless sphynx kitty! i will try to figure out how to post their pictures!!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love the names of your girls, and you have some excellent layers. Black Sex Links are my favorites; friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You should get lots of eggs from those girls. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Good luck with your flock.

What little dolls you have. I used to groom dogs about a zillion years ago and bred and showed dogs also. Glad you joined the Backyard chickens flock
