Beautiful dog!  I considered getting one, but we ended up with a mastiff mutt.  Pretty birds too!

Busy with three kids, three dogs, a garden overrun with aphids and some chickens:  1 Easter Egger(Nutmeg), 1 Turken(Chick-a-Saurus-Pex), 1 Hamburg(Purdee), 1 Minorca (Cayenne) and 2 Polish (Butter and Flour), and 4 new chicks in the brooder!!  I also have a freezer full of home raised Cornish X.

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but what breed are the black chicks?

Are they Ancona? What are/were they like as hens?

Thanks

I'm not the OP, but those chicks look to be Black Australorps to me.

I know this is an old thread.  I also have a Cane Corso and she is great with my chickens.  I can leave her home all day alone with the chicks free roaming and she doesn't bother them.  I actually think the dog, Aly thinks it is her job to hang out with them and protect them.  After all Cane Corso's were breed to be protectors of the farm.  Wish I could figure out how to put a picture of her on here. . . . .

Wow that's cool about the Cane Corso, I don't know that breed, I've been trying to

find a breed really good with hens. To add a picture of your dog just click insert image icon

on top of text reply box (it was harder to do on old site).
