My peep started to pip this am but it has stopped and no movement from egg for awhile. I'm worried membrane is to dry! Any suggestions?

Does not look dry to me, they are supposed to be white looking.. From pip to zip can take anywhere from 12-24 hours.. a lot of resting in between. Your chick is absorbing the blood vessels and yolk sack. Best to run to town for the day or work outside, its hard but let the chick and incubator alone

Just worried right now. Egg not moving for past 2-3 hours and no further piping. Good luck to you!!!

Ok THANK YOU! Makes me feel better!

I have hatched for over a year and I know how you feel, this is the most nerve wracking time!

If it made its pip this morning it may very well be tomorrow morning before it hatches...again perfectly normal.

Ok the only thing is tho that it looks like the membrane is now like a yellowish color and it looks dry to me. It is actually more than just a small pip. Looks kinda like it started to zip and stopped. I'll take pic and post it
