Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. I've never personally seen and sex link offspring produced by using anything other than silver gene hens or barred gene hens, however since blue is always dominate to brown, crossing your blue Cochin hen with a brown rooster should produce sex linked offspring. The male offspring should be blue and the female offspring should be brown. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Michael is right about needing a sex linked trait like gold/silver (for "red sexlinks") or barred (for "black sex links"). There are 2 other sex-linked traits that are not available in cochins, AFAIK, the use of slow/fast feathering and the dermal inhibitor with black skin (like silkies). Your best bet to get sex links of any sort is to get a barred or cuckoo hen and cross her to a non-barred roo, preferably black. Blue Cochins don't work well for sex linking.

In my experience, cochins are sexable at about a month by the large comb on the roos, that is likely your best bet for sexing the offspring.
