A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Does anyone know of a place or breeder that's selling Royal Palm pairs that I can use as a proof of value for the birds? I've had a crazy day today and part of it is that a dog killed a pair of my Palms. The owners are GOING to pay me back, or I'll be taking it to court, and I need something to show the value of a breeding pair.
I wouldn't take less than $150 to $175 in my area for a grown breeding pair in their prime. They cost a fortune to raise up to that point and they may go for more than that in your area.

I'm so sorry for your loss. If it would help, I could probably type up a rough sample invoice and send it to you? I haven't sold many birds yet but do sell some here and there. We could get a general consensus for price from the others.

That would help a lot. I bought these off a friend when they were younger for $70 for the pair and raised them up, and wasn't sure what the going rate for a year old pair would be.

PM me your email address and I can work on the sample invoice. Since Huntmaster said $150 for a pair thats what we will go with. $75 each.

What incubators do you all use?

I currently have a GQF 1502 Sportsman I use as an incubator, and have a GQF Hovabator Genesis I use as a hatcher. The fan burned up in my Genesis, and while I am awaiting the replacement part, I am having to improvise. I hatch in staggered batches, so to keep from exposing the entire cabinet of eggs to the higher humidity required to lockdown, I use a large shallow rubbermaid container with a lid that fits in the bottom of the hatching tray. It has like 10 holes drilled in the sides for adequate ventilation and lined with paper towels for traction. I've used this method quite successfully for several years when the Genesis is too full during hatches. The chicks create their own humidity inside the container as they hatch. I had removed the water pan from the Sportsman until I had to lock this set down. I didn't want the air in the incubator to be too dry, so I returned the water pan and opened another vent. The humidity has been in the low 30's. It was 20% without the pan of water.

I did just impulse buy a Nurture Right 360. I'm going to give it a whirl as a hatcher for small batches while I'm waiting on my Genesis part. The Lord knows I love GQF, but they don't get in any hurry shipping. Maybe Amazon spoils me? My NR 360 will be here Thursday. :D
