As soon as Daisy gets all her feathers in I need to take some glamour shots. I'm fascinated by how her black spots change yearly. This year she is sporting long black streaks on her tail. I'm going to put her on one of my grooming tables & stack her like I would a dog. LOL. Humor me, I realize she's no more beautiful than any other blue slate hen with new feathers. I'll be sending the pics to my family just to annoy them! My family, who think she looks prehistoric, still doesn't get the turkey "thing". My family is divided into two camps. Those who are polite about it, ( Yes dear she is pretty, for a turkey) and those who just assume I've lost my mind & need intervention. LOL!!
Are acorns really ok for them to eat? I thought they had something in them and they weren't ok to eat without processing?Guess the good thing about our prolonged heat is there are still a lot of green munchables available for the girls. And little bugs in the grass for hunting. Both ate their fill on our stroll last night. AND its acorn season! Get a lot falling in my driveway. I step on 'em & the girls are standing by to eat 'em. Yes, they are spoiled....I step on them & crack them open. It's like popping bubble wrap!
Rjohns....the inbound hurricane is veering east of us....are you going to catch some of the rain?
Acorns are fine for turkeys to eat. Wild turkeys eat them all the time without having @memphis step on the acorns for them. Are acorns really ok for them to eat? I thought they had something in them and they weren't ok to eat without processing?
