A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Quit laughing at me R2elk....you know my two girls are pampered pets. Little sweeties!
What was the RP bred too to produce penciling? The penciling mystery is fascinating. I'll be interested in Aurora getting to the bottom of her penciling gene.
These are the Sweetgrass poults. The Sweetgrass tom has no evidence of penciling and the poults from the other Royal palm hen also show no signs of penciling. Unfortunately I let the hen with the best visible semi penciling go but at least she went with the tom that also had the best looking semi penciling. They should make some really pretty babies if they don't get eaten by their new owner's predator problem.

I opened the coop the morning to find that Romeo And Tommy were at it again . They were over it by the time I left them out but it must've been a brutal battle. Both boys are all scabby and Romeo had a little bit of blood on his wing. Nobody really looked hurt though. Not long after letting them out, Mister decided to take advantage of Romeo being half beaten already and started a relentless attack. Usually, it's Mister hiding behind Romeo and tag teaming against Tommy. Neither one was willing to give up this morning so I kicked Mister out the pen for the day :/ Looks like I'm going to have to figure out a way to get everyone seperated sooner rather than later. I have Mister the kennel that the neighbor gave us for the day. I threw Lil and Sweet Pea with him to try to occupy him for a while. I'll put them all back together tonight around 9 when the lights go off. What royal pains in my butt!

In other news, I watched Tommy breed Cynthia yesterday. I think it was her first time and she was not impressed, running around chirping and shaking! I got a saddle on her after that and Lil has one now too.

I've come to a decision. I'm going to breed Mister to a few of the girls, hatch a bunch of eggs and keep any hens, especially ones with the blue gene, then he's going in the freezer. I really like him but he's causing a lot of trouble in the flock. I don't need the extra problems. He is permanently banned turkey coop and until I get a roof of some kind on the kennel, he's sleeping in the chicken run.

love those turkeys , but they can be a pain. With him locked out you may find another was the real culprit, at least that's what happens to me half the time :lau

There hasn't been a single argument or fight all day long when he wasn't in there. I threw him back in this evening and he didn't mess with anyone, except Romeo. He started it and that was that :/
