A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

There was some sort of massacre their pen last night it this morning. I have no clue why or what happened but when I walked in there this morning, there were feathers everywhere. I found one Pebbles' babies dead, the other is missing and 3 of princess's babies dead. All adults are fine. I did worm everyone (adults) last night but that's the only thing that I did. Could that have triggered something? Again, I'm glad I only give the girls cockerels to raise but they were doing so good!
:barnie:hugs
Bad turkeys
I had the turkey hen last year kill a week or so cockerel, he had been very annoying. getting separated from his chicken mom and running up and down the coop trying to get through to where he could hear mom.

Did the turkeys do the massacring or some other critter?

I have a little over 5 dozen turkey eggs heading to the 28 day baking device.. I think this is the end of my hatching. The eggs from now on will be omelets.

Aurora....that's terrible. That's a good question Ralph....could it have been an invader?

I didn't see any tracks the snow that would point to an invader any kind. I'm wondering if my holding the toms down to squirt safeguard down their throats made them get all fussy start fighting, throwing the whole coop an uproar? I don't know but neither Princess nor Pebbles seemed interested in caring for the remaining 2 chicks so I moved them to the chicken coop and have them to my broody hen Ana. She's already raising 4 that are about a week older but she seemed to be fine with them joining her little group. I couldn't stay and babysit so hopefully they just followed the lead of the others.

Wow, everyone start dry! ( And warm if it applies). Yesterday it was warm and sunny here. All the snow and ice that we got on Wednesday turned slushy and wet and melted off a bit. Roads are all clear now and shoes got damp trudging through it. Everything refroze overnight so now there's ice again  Spring, where are you?!

Rjohns....same here....some schools closed. Another 4-6 inches of rain due today through tomorrow. Blah!!
Got so desperate yesterday took the hound for a run in the rain. We both have cabin fever! The girls are depressed!

Some turkeys actually are outdoors in the rain and survive without melting.....
