A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Flashpoint....those midgets are small...surely you can fit in 10 more! LOL!

Oh Blossom! Filled the girls feeders. They all came running from the big yard to check it out! Blossom for some reason couldn't get through the gate. May need to keep an eye on her!! I had to shepherd her through.

Notice Iris & Marigold checking out the squirrel. Blossom was more interested in getting some attention.

If big size difference, how big a bird you want for meal. Is the older a proven breeder? Which treats the hen well? Is either aggressive toward people? Just a few questions to ask yourself to help decide.
Thanks. I don't know if either of them is a proven breeder. They both display and strut but I have never seen either of them mount the female. If the female laid any eggs this year, then she hid them well! I never found a single one! I've even followed her out into the woods to see if I could find a hiding place.:idunno
Both of them treat the female nicely, they are both good around the chickens and people. So, unfortunately, the questions don't help.
I thought the younger one should go to dinner because I figured the older one should have a better chance of fertilizing eggs. My husband thinks the older one should go to dinner. I guess because it's older and may be a little bigger. :idunno

I was hoping someone on here would be able to say one was a better specimen than the other and make the choice easier! :lau

Turn on a good movie tonight, sit the kids & DH down to watch & hand them each a poult! LOL!

DD would be all about that! DD would get bored in 2 minutes and DH wouldn't want anything to do with that lol

Just for fun, how do you folks cook older turkeys??? 1 Plus years old...

The same as any other ;)

Hunting season safety saddle prototype 1, modeled by Nibbles. The ridge on the back needs to be higher. I have a few other ideas to try out. I'll probably throw another one together tomorrow.

My old sewing machine is giving me a hard time again so I've been using the backup again. I don't know if it's out of time again or what but it seems like it slipping somewhere and hitting wrong. I like the backup but it tends to get fussy when the fabric gets too thick. The old Kenmore usually plows right through it all.
