My Toms frustrate me at times, mainly bedtime!. But I like them following me around. I am not crazy about them picking on the roosters, but that is just part of having a blended flock.
I had a guinea harassing one of the Toms this morning. Do you suppose the turkeys know which guinea is a male and which a hen? I might be able to use this super ability if they have it.
I always tell people to beware of the Toms. They are like a boar, bull, stallion, or even a rooster and can attack you and change personalities in a second. My grandkids love JJ. I do not even let them go near JJ unless I am there. They di not get to pet or touch him unless I am holding him. It is just not worth taking the chance. I doubt JJ would hurt them but you can never be sure.
I think Porter will settle down when I get him locked up alone and I can spend time with him forcing him to submit to me holding him and controlling him.
I know it is not the way most real farmers would raise them, but I don't want a bunch of turkeys to just have as a "crop". I want them to interact with me, so I whine about their bad behavior then go out and make them do more bad things to whine about.... Sort of like my wife does with me... Its her fault.
