Coco is still parked on her nest, and refusing to budge. Any suggestions how to encourage her to get back to being a nice bird again? She's not sitting on anything (she squashed the chicken eggs that I gave her) and she's been at it for a lot of weeks already. I can't check to see if she's lost weight, I value my fingers (she bit me today for coop cleaning in her vicinity). Any help appreciated!
My excitement for the evening was hearing some thumping in the front porch. We have a large porch - the brooder is out there, and the cat and dogs get fed out there. It was a weird noise, so I went to check on it. I opened the front door to be greeted by the cat having a debate with a fat raccoon about who was the owner of the cat food bowl. He bailed out the cat door - which is far smaller than he was - I had no idea they could flatten out like that.... Tomorrow's new chore will be figuring out how to make the cat door even smaller Thankfully he didn't get any of the chicks! Hopefully I can keep him out, or DH will find a different (and more permanent) method to deter him. We have wildlife...and that's fine, but it needs to stay out of the house
