I have no doubt this is true..
It must be turkey abuse week. Coffee called. She did not heed my advice to stay away from her setting hen. She was worried because she did not see the babies. She called me all upset. She went to peek at the babies the Hen run her out of the coop. Hit her in the f ace and shoulders and beat on poor Coffee. A couple poults wandered away during this and Coffee tried to put them back which ended in dead or injured babies....
Word to the wise, DO NOT APPROACH a Turkey hen on the nest if you do not have too. Turkey wrassling will start soon thereafter.
Ethel still loves me. I left her with the eggs that should hatch soon. I know what kind of mother she is and the other two were young hens.
The two that were evicted from the nest came to eat tonight when I fed the boys. The one has lost a lot of weight (Ethel Jr). I need to get some weight on them before they start laying again.
