But when my incubators are full and I want to slow eggs down then I let them brood a batch.
So far this year the hens that have brooded have done better than I have.
Dgibson... some hens are better than others at raising a brood. Seems to me older, more experienced hens can do a good job. Feedman, Ralphie, & R2elk all seem to have good moma hens.

Well, it looks like Feedman is correct about Knothead being a boy. A lot has changed over a short amount of time. Snood grew, adult feathers are coming in with no white tips and he gobbled. :) You can see a few of the old white tipped feathers still, but they are disappearing and being replaced pretty quick suddenly.
