I recently got my first flock of chickens that are anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks of age.
I am having trouble sexing the orpingtons, any thoughts on what they may be?
(I have 4)
There should be pictures available
Thanks!

The no.3 chick with the reddened comb may be a boy. Three - four weeks old is still pretty young. But the appearance of an early red comb generally points to a male.

You could wait another 2 weeks or so and put new pictures up at "what breed or gender is this." for more opinions.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. I agree with drumstick diva. At this point, # 3 is the only one that looks like a male. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Buff Orpingtons.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Lovely chicks you have there. The red comb woukd point me too towards No3 being male too. Please do post pics again ina few weeks in the what breed gender section of the forum.

Good luck with your chicks in the future I'm sure they will make you some lovely adult birds. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
