1900 Gallons of ducky bliss

Pics
We are now on our fifth year with this pool. I am currently trying to get a sand filter and UV clarifier plumbed in. The ramp has deteriorated and we've decided that the pool is a great idea. They like it because it's big. We like it because it is low maintenance compared to kiddie pools and with 5 years on the same pool, whenever we have to replace it, we really can't complain. So I decided to make their "forever ramp". It was made with pressure treated lumber (outside the pool) and PVC (inside the pool) supporting composite decking. I made it twice as long as their old ramp so that it isn't as steep and put a 45 degree turn going into the pool so that the ramp itself could be to the far right of the pool so that although it gets the morning sun, the hotter sun in the afternoon and evening won't make it too hot for their feet. I wanted something that I could hose down easily and it is very stable with leveling feet on the outside sections. It was made in 4 sections to make it easier to transport / clean. I think I may have made it a bit too comfortable though as I just caught Roxette on the pool cam taking a nap on the ramp.:gig:th

That is an amazing pool! Do you remember what brand it is? I’m very impressed that it is still going strong after 5 years. I’ve been looking for alternatives to kiddy pools, and I love that the one you have is durable and is deep enough for them to dive!

NO blocking the ramp!!!

Awesome! Is that a tarp under the pool to keep the mud out?
Yup, Any water splashing out of the pool is less likely to puddle :)

Also, I was too lazy to "surface" the ground, so it is additional protection against small rocks and such. I figure no one will be walking on the floor of the pool, so getting the ground perfect isn't as important.

I got mine at Kmart, but Walmart/Target/Amazon have them all the time for around $100 every year. It is the 12' x 30" model. They are sold under various names but are all the same. They get much more expensive when you get just a little bigger. Intex is the "name brand" but I think mine is a "Bestways" or something like that. I've seen several different brandings of the same pool. If it looks like this and is 12' x 30" I'm sure it is the same.

Ok, I had a chance to go out and snap a couple pics of the new ramp so here is the ramp.

And here is the "ducky dome" it is housed in:

The stacked PVC is left over from an old project (over a year ago) but the ducks like hiding under it in the day, so for now it stays. You can see the other reason for the 45 degree turn: when the old ramp was steeper and shorter, they would go under the table and catch the ramp into the pool. If the current ramp were to run down the middle of the "ducky dome, there would be no room for the table.
