Hello. New small flock owner

We also purchased our coop from Triple Braided Farm products and are located in Ohio. They were great to work with. Our purchased a smaller coop 4'x4' with and 4'x8' run. We did put wire underneath the run before our chickens arrived. We have one window (I have purchased fabric for curtains) and a flower box. I have 3 Comets named Mary, Martha & Macy. They have not started to lay yet.

I am new to chickens and have been really worried about the cold weather we have been having. Should I be opening the run to let them choose to be inside/outside? I'm afraid while I'm at work they will go inside the coop to get warm but I'm afraid it won't be warm enough if the run door is open. I'm also afraid they are going to get very bored inside the coop.
