thanks for that my age isn't actually specified but the peson who commented has a point about age making a huge difference

This thread wasnt started by a 12 year old, unless pingu is 12 also, which they havent said.

I think that they give them all names such as brunch dinner lunch breakfast tea supper

Chickens were domesticated thousands of years ago for meat and eggs. They are considered Livestock and that is how I view them. Ours will have names and be treated well, but they will provide meat, eggs, chicks, and fun. Our steers and Goats have names to, but they still end up in the freezer or the auction. It's ok to enjoy the animals without becoming emotionally attached to them. Meat is a large part of our diet, and most of it is raised by us.

I wouldn't eat my dogs, but other cultures would. Thankfully my dogs help to put other food on the table during the proper seasons.

Pingu is a vegetarian, which means she wouldn't eat meat but would eat dairy and eggs.

With her views on animals being pets and equal to humans, I'm surprised that she eats by products of animals...unless those animals were raised sustainably and humanely, she would be contributing to some of the most cruel treatment of animals there could be. Most commercial dairies are horrible to their cows. And in light of how she views animals, wouldn't that be much like milking a human who was lactating and drinking her milk?
