i've got 10 goslings of various ages (the last 7 hatched yesterday)... i've always kept them on cloth towels (wrapped around a 1" thick media that helps keep the towels drier) till about 2 weeks, then switch over to pine shavings ... to make my life a little easier, i'd like to put them all on pine asap ... what do the rest of you do?

Because you run the risk of curious gosling nibbling on the shaving I would wait at least a week to make sure everyone knows what food is compared to shavings. I like to use puppy pee pads too but towels work great you just have to change both of them out alot.

a busier week it will be

thanks! ...

I wouldn't use pine. Aspen or White shavings are better. Pine can emit fumes when it gets wet and with waterfowl that's a given. I put my gosling on white shavings when she was three days old.
