Hello all...my danish white goose pair, 2 years old, have started to lay eggs. Her first time. Normally they run free in the yard, since Flo has started to lay eggs George is very aggressive. The kids no longer want to go out..I stand guard for the bus..
Solutions...or can I just pen then near the nest. Will she continued use to lay eggs and sit on them?
Hubby wants to sell him...if that happens will she take another mate?
Thanks ks in advance for all your replies.

What your seeing is normal behavior Ganders are very protective of their mates their nest and their goslings. i would make them a nice size pen and of course they need a safe house. Any gander you bring in is going to act the same way it's in their DNA to be this way. I would not allow young children around a pair of geese mating, brooding and hatching goslings. It won't be the geese's fault when someone gets bitten but they will get blamed for acting according to their natural behavior .
