Breeding for Red Pyle

Pics
Got some info on the 'other recessive white'.

Such a thing really exists and it is an allele of Mottle. Totally separate(non-allelic) to recessive white. if you bred recessive white to this second type of recessive white, you get colored birds.

It is rare in American stock and exists mainly in birds of Japanese descent=most of the breeds tested and proven to have it were longtails- onagadori ohiki shokoku etc.

kinda tempting to get a recessive white bird and breed it with my leaky whites to get it figured out...

Hi there, I've read through this thread and really enjoyed it.... I'm just starting a flock of Araucanas. I'd like to make some Red Pyle Araucanas, at some point in the future.... However, right now, I have a cockerel I'm trying to figure out his genetic background. I have pics of his parents, and was hoping y'all might be able to tell me something about him and how I could use him in a breeding pen.

I'll post 3 pics of the cockerel in question. Then I'll post one pic of each parent.

Can anybody tell me anything about the color genetics in my cockerel? If he was yours, what color variety would you use him with? - His best attribute are his tufts and his size. I'm not sure if his leg color is right because I don't know that much about genetics, yet! SOP is on the way!

Thanks for taking time to look!

I know this is an older thread, but thought I would post a pic of a roo I hatched out of shipped eggs. Pure Australian araucana. He's quite striking, shame about the random black tail feathers tho.
I know this is an old thread, but I just want to say that this is a beautiful bird. I love him. I have a ten week old with faint markings, that may or may not turn out a bit like this guy (unsure if my chick is a boy or girl) in colour, I shall see.
