Took the babies out for about an hour this afternoon. They were in a protected area: Green house that had had all but the bottom 2' of plastic removed, so it was well sheltered from the breeze. The little ones had a blast. They are 6 days old. It's amazing to watch them get down to the business of scratching up some grub, fighting over dried up tomato skins, and taking their first dust bath. Such tiny little creatures come pre-programmed, knowing exactly what they need to do to be successful.

sounds like loads of fun..hope you got photos or video so you can enjoy it in years to come.

Sounds like fun! I try and take my babies out, but I have to do it inside because its raining the last few days. How long should you take them out for? I take them out individually and let them sit with me while I am doing my school work. When the weather turns nice I am going to probably take them outside and let them play in the nice spring grass (as soon as it dries up that is). For now though its just quality time with mommy.

Yah well mine mainly just kinda sleep in my lap at the time, i have my bantam babies in the house right now due to the cold raid don't want them getting sick. They are probably only a few days old right now, so.. i have them in the warmest room in the house. I take them out for a little bit a few times a day (like 10 min or so) and just kind of hold them, and let them play in my lap with each other. Its really quite amusing.
