Meat?

Does anyone feed their chickens raw meat or is always cooked?
Personally, I never feed my chickens meat (I find it a little weird). But to answer your question, always cooked meat, just because of potential food poisoning from raw food. Good luck!

I feed my chickens all my leftovers, so yes, they get meat, fish, dairy, eggs, bacon, shellfish. I give large pieces of chicken to the cats but if it was mixed in with the meal... they get a bit of chicken too. I think chickens are opportunistic feeders by nature and pretty good at determining what is fit for their consumption. And let me tell you they LOVE the nasty stuff.

My gals get chicken, beef, pork, fish, lamb; basically whatever we are having for dinner in the meat line, I cook up a little extra for them. Once a week they get scrambled or boiled eggs.

All of the above with a salad of some description, lettuce, cabbage, peas, corn, rice or pasta.

Not in huge portions but just a little extra with their seed for breakfast.

I do not feed them raw meat; I have never really researched if it is OK but if I wouldn’t eat it, the girls don’t get to eat it either. Except for grubs, meal worms etc; I do not eat those but they LOVE them!
