Hatching supermarket eggs

Yes, very fun! They're doing really well, it will be interesting to see what they look like as adults. Since the hens are hybrids the chicks will not be the same as their parents.

In Sweden, organic and KRAV (KRAV farms have to follow special rules for the well being of the hens) have roosters among them, this is why it's possible that some eggs are fertilized.

That is cool. *Peep*

How adorable. They should be hardy hatching after all that. There are threads on BYC about hatching store eggs. Trader Joe's sells fertile eggs and some people have hatched them. Giant sells fertile eggs, too, and I've thought about incubating them. The hens are supposed to be good layers, but with my luck if any hatched, they would all be roosters.

I had no luck at trader joes here in Saint Petersburg.
They don't even sell em!
Just the regular Organic/Vegetarian/misleading labeled garbage.
