Yes, it is a new responsibility for me, opening up for them every morning and closing them in every night, checking their food and water supplies and taking them treats, letting them out for strolls around the garden for up to an hour a day... But I love having chickens, at first we got an egg every 3 days, then every second day and currently every day, so I know at least 2 are laying currently, I think the Sussex is the late bloomer.
Yesterday they were left to wander around the garden for around 2 hours, they were so happy! Their run is not too small for them but there are so many tasty bugs and weeds OUTSIDE of it.
Is it normal that from time to time chickens have a runny light brown poo? It is certainly not constant and it changes from one chicken to another (not always the same chicken).
