Hey guys I'm very new to raising chickens I was gifted them randomly and unexpectedly, I've had them for about 3 days now and they're doing great I was just curious if you guys can tell what breed they are at this early of an age? The box they came in just says 3 pullets and 3 bantams. This first pic is one of the bantams I assume. he/she is very pretty but very shy just goes completely still when I set here on my lap but she's getting a lil better every day

Next is another bantam this one is very energetic he's always scratching around and pecking. But he is deathly afraid of my hand haha he will run and scream when I try and pick him up at first but after I get him and set him on my lap he calms down real quick
and then there's the last bantam not as afraid as the last of my hand but he doesn't like that's for sure if I turn him over in my hand he will just lay there and sleep, he is kinda the aggressive one even though he is the smallest he pecks at the other chicks occasionally. He also had pasty butt this morning the only one so far next is one of the pullets they are all very friendly and like to be held and this last PIC is just my favorite its so cute a pullet taking a nap with their guard dog watching haha

Thanks for the reply mymilliefleur! D'uccles huh? They are the smallest and the feistiest of them all, I just hope some of them will be good egg layers I know the bantams won't because their suppose to be small but hopefully the pullets will, when you get pullet chicks at a feed store are they suppose to be all female? I'm just curious I wasn't the one who bought them

Yes, d'Uccles can be feisty.

Feed stores usually sell sexed pullets, but once in a while you will get a rooster instead of a pullet.

I just browsed the internet and I can see there are a few different d'uccle types, the one dark colored chick I have looks just like the pictures of mille fluer d'uccle chicks. Wait I just realized that's your user name is that what you raise mille fleur d'uccle chickens?

We have a female mille and she's a love bug. We have had her for the last year and handle her every day. At 1st she was not too happy but over the last year she comes running when she sees us

Yes, I do. The light colored one looks kind of like a golden neck, and the darker one, looks like a mille fleur.

Here are some of my flock:

Wow just wow. Their feather pattern is so beautiful the brown with the black and white tips and the beautiful feathers going all the way down their legs, those are some majestic birds you have there. Ha I cracked up at the picture of your rooster it looks like it has devil eyes all red with a black spot. How small do they stay compared to regular chickens? The one pic of one standing next to a garden hose makes it look pretty small

So nobody has any idea what the chick in the first picture might be? It already has tail feathers and wings way more advanced than the others
